Day 1: Arusha to Serengeti National Park

Overnight: Nyani Campsite, Serengeti, tent, mattress, bedding, and camp chef provided

A transfer vehicle brings you to the departure point, where your guide and Land Cruiser are waiting. You head west through the Ngorongoro highlands and into the Serengeti, the game drive beginning the moment you cross into the park.

Wildebeest in their thousands, zebras on the open plain, and the ever-present possibility of a cheetah or leopard in the afternoon light. Your tent is pitched and dinner is ready when you arrive at Nyani Campsite.

 

Day 2: Full-Day Serengeti Game Drive, Transfer to Ngorongoro

Overnight: Simba Campsite, Ngorongoro Rim_tent, mattress, bedding, and camp chef provided

A full day in the Serengeti with no rush and no itinerary beyond following the wildlife. This is Big Five territory, and during the Great Migration season the scale of what you witness hundreds of thousands of wildebeest moving together is simply impossible to prepare for.

By late afternoon you drive east and climb to the Ngorongoro rim, the land cooling and greening as you rise. Simba Campsite sits right at the edge, with the crater invisible in the darkness below you.

 

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater Safari, Return to Arusha

Overnight: End of safari transfer vehicle to Arusha or JRO

The descent into the Ngorongoro Crater is one of those moments that stays with you. The ancient caldera stretches nearly 20 kilometers across and shelters lions, elephants, flamingos, hippos, and some of the most reliably seen black rhinos on the continent.

Your guide reads the crater floor with patience and expertise. At the end of the drive, a transfer vehicle returns you to your Arusha accommodation or takes you directly to JRO.

 

ABOUT THE CAMPSITES

Nyani Campsite in the Serengeti and Simba Campsite on the Ngorongoro rim are public campsites managed by Tanzania National Parks. Your tent, mattress, bedding, and a dedicated camp chef are all provided.

You do not need to bring camping equipment or have any prior camping experience. These are well-run, atmospheric sites used by join safari groups every night of the year.
